Auto Breakin's

Notice.... Auto Break-in increase...

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office has recently been working an increase in the number of vehicles which have been broken into. In reality most vehicles are not broken into but items are actually stolen from unlocked autos. The Sheriff's Office encourages all citizens, particularly those in the south, central, and eastern shore areas of the county, to lock their autos at night. Valuables should be removed and stored within residence. The most popular items stolen are purses, wallets, cell phones, portable electronics, and weapons. If you carry a weapon in your auto, it should be stored in the residence during night time hours. Most of these thefts occur in the late night and early morning hours. If you see any particular activity such as unknown autos driving slow through neighborhoods late at night or individuals walking along driveways late at night, please report the activity to the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office at 251-937-0202.
